Station Camps

Wakayala
R. Thompson Nakkamarra

There was that old camp where we lived. Everybody had a camp there. That's the camp in there, before we were born. I lived here. I get up in the morning early 'cause kitchen, then we used to go and have a feed there. Real early hours round about 5 o'clock we used to wake up. Half past five the men used to travel to get to the bores, just to do the cattle work. And sometime they do branding there. Women worked in the kitchen or sometimes, at the school. We stayed with the kids.
