‘In the case of Rockhampton Downs protracted negotiations eventually culminated in an agreement on a ‘land swap’ deal which takes into consideration the land needs of traditional owners and pastoral management considerations of the lessee. The basis of the agreement is that claimants forgo their claim to the greater part of the land recommended for grant return for a parcel of land adjacent and to the south of land already returned to them.’

--Central Land Council Annual Report, 1996-97, 20.

‘My Dad worked with Mr. Easey for many years. He worked with old Easey and a Chinese bloke putting up windmills. Once they were putting up the tailboard and the rope gave way. The Chinese bloke flipped right off the tailboard, rolled over and landed on his two feet.’

--M. Jones Jampin, July 2003, number 11 bore, Rockhampton Downs.
